    Authors Charmaine Ramsey and Victoria Selvaggio did an excellent job when they recently spoke to 6th, 7th and 8th graders at Woodridge Middle School.  They shared their writing history and their passion for writing with the students.  They showed examples of their work and then allowed students to share examples of their own work.  The authors were very well received by the students.  Teachers reported that the students were very excited when they returned to class to talk about what they had learned and how excited they were to share their own work with real authors.  It was a very worthwhile presentation.

Hi Ladies,

    I just wanted to thank you so much for the seminar yesterday. The kids have been writing in their journals nearly every moment they could since you passed them out! Your approach and rapport with the students were perfect. I really appreciated how you encouraged them to keep trying, even though rejection may happen, and to use their gifts no matter how difficult it gets. We're actually discussing that in our 5th grade Bible class right now. God gives us special gifts and talents, but it is up to us to work hard and put them to use. Your message went beyond writing in many ways.
