Woodridge Middle School Community Day-September 19, 2009: Charmaine J. Ramsey and Victoria A. Selvaggio. The authors will have a variety of books displayed and will be available for purchase. Stop by and chat with the authors. They are looking forward to meeting you and will answer any questions you may have. Southeast Middle School
The Third Annual Southeast Local Schools Literacy Day was held on
Saturday, April 18, 2009, from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. The address is
Southeast Middle School , 8540 Tallmadge Rd. , Diamond , Ohio 44412 .
Authors came and signed their books for the public to buy. Area
libraries were welcomed to come and share information on their programs.
Food and beverages were provided for those authors and library
personnel attending.
Competitive events for the students were held on the same day.
Akron Children's Hospital Myelo Christmas Party
Charmaine Ramsey and Victoria Selvaggio were invited to attend and
share their book with the children. The Myelo Christmas Party
from Akron Children's Hospital,was held December of 2008.
The experience was wonderful for both of us. Our stories read to
the children and their family's were, "Buster, The Big Yellow School
Bus,' and "Because I'm Afraid."
The
Learned Owl Bookshop,
204 N. Main Street, will welcome local authors and business partners,
Charmaine J. Ramsey and Victoria A. Selvaggio, as they celebrate their
children's books and their business, CharVic Enterprise, June 20, from
7 to 8 p.m. This event is part of the Friday Fresh Voices
Series.
Refreshments will be served.
The
Beachwood Branch of the Cuyahoga County Library
will be hosting a local author fair on Saturday, July 19, 2008 from 1
to 4 p.m. Please come and visit local authors Charmaine J. Ramsey
from
Cuyahoga Falls and Victoria A. Selvaggio from Twinsburg. Books
will be
available for sale. We hope to see you there!
Woodridge Community Days 2008
CharVic Enterprise was at Woodridge Middle School January 25, 2008 for an author visit. Their presentation was about the "writing process". Invitations were sent to a select group of sixth, seventh and eighth grade students.Victoria A Selvaggio and Charmaine J. Ramsey talked about how their careers started, where they got their ideas from, as they walked these students through the writing process to publication. Both authors were on hand to critique their work and answer questions.

Middle School Community Day – September 23, 2006 – Book signing for
Victoria A. Selvaggio and Charmaine J. Ramsey.
Green Primary School – May 29, 2007 – CharVic Enterprise was scheduled for an author presentation for a 300 children assembly of 1st graders. Charmaine J. Ramsey and Victoria A. Selvaggio enlightened the 1st graders with a brief introduction that lead into the children singing a song. Charmaine J. Ramsey presented, "Buster, The Big Yellow School Bus", in E book format and Victoria A. Selvaggio presented the rough draft of her new book “My Shadow”, explaining what a rough draft means. “Because I’m Afraid” was in E book format that the children were able to view. Green Primary School presented each child with a booklet, in which Charmaine and Victoria encouraged the children to start their own stories. Time allowed about twenty (20) children to introduce themselves and read their stories in front of their peers. This author presentation, not only encouraged the children to read and write, but also gave the children the opportunity to speak in front of an audience.
Summit Christian School – May 22, 2007 – CharVic Enterprise was scheduled for an author presentation for 5th & 6th graders. Charmaine J. Ramsey and Victoria A. Selvaggio discussed the writing process with the students, and presented each student with their own personal writing journal for creating their own stories over the summer. Students were encouraged to read and write as much as possible over the summer. A few students contacted both authors via e-mail regarding the stories they have started in their journals.
Bissell Elementary School – May 14, 2007 – CharVic Enterprise was scheduled for an author presentation for 2nd & 3rd graders for “Right to Read Week”. Author, Charmaine J. Ramsey, shared with the children, "Emo Goes for a Walk", "Buster, The Big Yellow School Bus", and her adult inspirational book, "A Sister's Blessing, The Spirit Within". Author, Victoria A. Selvaggio, shared with the children, “Because I’m Afraid”, “The Hope Chest”, and a rough draft of “My Shadow”. Both of the authors gave an overview of the writing process.
